Substance Use
Adolescent Program
Support for Young People and Their Families
A young person’s substance use or mental health challenges affect the whole family. So does a family member’s addiction. NorthStar’s Adolescent Program provides treatment for youth ages 12–17 and their families, with a focus on reducing symptoms, building coping skills, and strengthening the family’s ability to move forward together.
How the Program Works
Treatment can take place at our center, at the young person’s school, at home, or at another location in the community based on what the family prefers. We believe that meeting families where they are, both physically and emotionally, leads to better outcomes.
The level of care and length of treatment are based on each individual’s needs. Family involvement is highly encouraged and often central to the process.
