Psychiatric Support as Part of Your Treatment
For some people, medication is an important part of managing mental health symptoms. NorthStar’s medication management services connect you with a psychiatric professional who can evaluate whether medication may help, prescribe it when appropriate, and monitor how it works overtime.
Medication management at NorthStar works alongside your other treatments. If you’re in counseling, your therapist and your prescriber communicate so that every part of your care is coordinated. You’re not handed a prescription and sent on your way. You’re supported throughout the process.
What This Looks Like
You’ll meet with a psychiatric provider who reviews your mental health history, your current symptoms, and any medications you’re already taking. Together, you’ll discuss options and decide on a plan. Follow-up appointments allow your provider to check in, adjust dosages if needed, and make sure the medication is helping the way it should.
Who Is This For?
Medication management is available to NorthStar clients who are receiving mental health or substance use treatment and may benefit from psychiatric medication as part of their care plan.
