NorthStar Behavioral Health meets rigorous standards for quality, safety, and clinical excellence. Our accreditations and certifications reflect our commitment to providing the highest level of care. 

CARF Accreditation 

NorthStar holds Behavioral Health and Opioid Treatment Program accreditations through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization that has been setting standards for health and human services since 1966. 

What this means for you: Our programs are regularly reviewed against some of the most demanding quality standards in behavioral health care. CARF accreditation confirms that we meet internationally recognized benchmarks for safety, client rights, treatment quality, and infection prevention. Our team continually reviews and improves the care we provide so that every person receives the best experience possible. 

State of Ohio Licensure 

NorthStar is licensed by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (ODBH) and the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. 

Opioid Treatment Program Certification 

Our Medication Assisted Program (MAP) is a certified opioid treatment program through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

What this means for you: Our medication-assisted treatment programs follow federal standards for safety, dosing, and clinical care. These certifications confirm that our medical team is qualified and our protocols are current.
